Fraser has been experiencing a steady housing boom in recent years. The Fraser VE neighbourhood, also known more popularly as the Fraserhood, has a long history of being a gathering place for the Vietnamese community, particularly in the aftermath of the Vietnam War. Even today this neighbourhood remains a highly diverse, multicultural area where many people of many communities come together to live, work and play together.

Gourmet Delights

Fraserhood is home to many fantastic and notable eateries, cafes and fine dining restaurants. Even as the city shifts and changes over time, longtime staples and culinary innovators alike have moved to the neighbourhood to seek out a new chapter. For instance, BHK Jerky which moved to the neighbourhood after almost 30 years in Chinatown, or Les Faux Bourgeois which is considered the #1 French restaurant in Vancouver by the Georgia Straight. And of course there’s Pho Hong, a notable Vietnamese restaurant in the neighbourhood. There’s still so much more for future residents to discover about this trendy neighbourhood.

Education in Fraser VE

Chief among the concerns of any family moving to a new neighbourhood is the matter of schooling. Thankfully, in Fraser VE, there doesn’t appear to be a shortage of schools to accommodate children from K-12. With nearby elementary schools like Charles Dickens Elementary School, or secondary schools like Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School, there’s a real longevity for families living in the Fraserhood.
