Come visit the Boulevard Neighbourhood, best known for North Vancouver's Grand Boulevard Park
Located just close enough to Lonsdale Avenue to be convenient, Boulevard is just far enough to be quiet. Housing in the lovely Boulevard neighbourhood is prominently single-family homes, but with an increasing number of duplexes and some strata townhome developments. Schools in or near the area are among some of North Vancouver’s finest, such as Sutherland Secondary School. It’s a family-friendly neighbourhood.
The parks in the neighbourhood are great, but one needs to be specifically mentioned.
It would be impossible to visit the Boulevard neighbourhood without hearing about Grand Boulevard Park. This park covers 6 blocks - extending north-to-south 1.39 kilometres from 19th Street to Keith Road. As of 2020, its winding pedestrian path is lit with lampposts allowing users to enjoy evening strolls through the park. The park also features a giant chessboard for local chess players to enjoy larger-than-life games. Grand Boulevard Park is actually part of a larger pedestrian and cyclist path called the Green Necklace, which connects several of North Vancouver’s parks together in a scenic 7.5km loop. On both of the west and east sides of the park are dedicated, one-direction bike lanes going north or south for both casual and commuter cyclists.
Loutet Park is more than just a trio of athletic fields at Boulevard's western edge. First, it has a dedicated jump park for BMX and mountain bikers of all skill levels. Second, the park hosts a small farm - aptly called Loutet Farm - as a cooperation by the City of North Vancouver and Edible Garden Project. The farm operates as a publicly-accessible, urban agriculture project. Food grown on the farm is sold locally at North Vancouver's farmers markets.
