Discover West End VW (Vancouver West)

Located alongside Vancouver’s downtown core, the West End is one of the most liveliest neighbourhoods of Vancouver. With so much to explore and see, you can get a taste of the all around “Vancouverite” experience. As one of the oldest downtown Vancouver neighbourhoods, the West End is going through a renaissance with the new densification plan by the CIty of Vancouver. In recent years, lots of new developments are replacing older buildings to increase density, livability & proximity to more residents.

The West End may have the most diverse array of activities to do. Whether you’re a nature lover, a foodie or a shopaholic, you can satisfy any need in the West End.  Located directly next to Stanley Park, you will never run out of things to explore. Biking through the park or along the Seawall is a favorite activity among the residents. Bicycles are easily accessible as you can rent one along Denman Street. Stanley Park also offers tennis, lawn bowling and rugby facilities. If the ocean is more your interest, you can always rent a kayak, try stand-up paddle boarding or catch a sunset right on English Bay.

Housing in the West End

The west end features a mix of low-rise, mid-rise and high-rise buildings. Since its one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Vancouver, you will find lots of newly renovated or preserved buildings sitting side by side by the newer high-rise buildings that have erected in the more recent years.  Due to its location, you will very rarely find single-family detached houses.
