Discover Hastings (Vancouver East)

Hastings is a surprisingly easygoing neighbourhood in Vancouver East. Don’t be fooled by its proximity to the raucous Playland at the PNE, this neighbourhood is much quieter than you would expect. And yet it still has amenities which make it appealing to young adults and young families, while being close enough to other neighbourhoods to create a cohesive sense of community.

Learning & Living in Hastings

Parents have many schooling options for young students in their families. There are both public and private schools within and close to the Hastings neighbourhood, serving the full range of K-12 needs. Schools in the area include Xpey’ Elementary School, St. Francis of Assisi and Templeton Secondary. Relaxing and enjoying some good ol’ outdoors time can be enjoyed at parks like Pandora Park, or Woodland Park. There’s many options to enjoy time out in the sun - particularly when enjoying a cone from the nearby Earnest Ice Cream location.

Commercial Drive 

The Hastings neighbourhood sits at the northernmost tip of Vancouver’s famous Commercial Drive. Known simply as The Drive, the area is known for its community celebrations like Car Free Day or Italian Days, a celebration of the area’s Italian-Canadian history. Commercial Drive is also known to be one of Vancouver’s culinary focal points with both established and new restaurants and cafes making their mark in the city. There are even some restaurants on The Drive recommended by the famed Michelin Guide!
