Grandview Woodland is best defined by its diverse and multicultural community working and living in the neighbourhood. With the majority of Grandview Woodland’s population between 20-64 years old, this longtime middle-class neighbourhood is a preferable area for young families, urban professionals and older residents. Commercial Drive, also known as The Drive, is the centrepiece of events and activity in Grandview Woodland. Major street festivals such as Car-Free Day Festival and Italian Days draw people from all over the Lower Mainland. The nearby Trout Lake Farmers Market is a great place to shop farm-fresh produce and local craft.

The neighbourhood has a variety of parks for outdoor activities and sports. The Grandview Woodland neighbourhood is also close to Hastings Park which boasts many entertainment venues such as Playland at the PNE and the Pacific Coliseum. Also nearby is Vancouver’s Trout Lake, a natural lake surrounded by parkland and community sports facilities.

Heading Out & Heading Home to Grandview Woodland

Commuting to and from Grandview Woodland is very easy and accessible. For instance, to the north the R5 RapidBus runs along Hastings, and to the south the 99 B-Line to UBC and SkyTrain can be accessed on Broadway. In addition to Translink’s “fast & frequent” options, multiple bus routes run through the area allowing for easy commuting options. Adding to this impressive ease of transit are dedicated bike lanes enabling quick movement for cyclists linking the neighbourhood to areas like the scenic False Creek seawall.
