Oakridge is an area buzzing with activity. The multicultural neighbourhood is a mix of residential neighbourhoods, a shopping mall along with Langara College.  Built in 1926, the Langara Golf course has been very popular and attracts many golfers to the area. Oakridge is a great middle ground of convenience of accessing the downtown core, a bustling shopping centre as well as out of city (Hwy 99 to Richmond, Ladner, then Tsawwassen for BC Ferries to Victoria andNanaimo)

Oakridge VW is home to the currently under construction  Oakridge Park by Westbank! This cultural hub will boast 10 acres of living, working, shopping and entertaining space. The park will offer accessible and convenient paths that will connect different parts of the centre and will include a 1km running loop, community gardens, and playground. Oakridge is one of the top performing shopping centres in North America and includes a diverse and contemporary dining experience in the food hall. In addition, Oakridge Park will offer other amenities including athletic and community meeting facilities, a library, a daycare centre, cultural spaces and youth services.

Getting to and from Oakridge VW

The neighborhood has very quick and frequent public transportation. The Canada Line has stations on 41st Avenue and Cambie, and at Langara station (49th Avenue and Cambie). Oakridge is also close to YVR in Richmond and UBC with easy access to Vancouver downtown core.

Education in the Neighborhood

Oakridge offers lots of options for education of people of all ages! For families with younger children, Van Horne Elementary and Jamieson Elementary are very central and easily accessible by walking from most areas of Oakridge. For the older children and teens, Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School is the Oakridge public high school. But there is also King David High School and Johnathan Academy as private high school options. 

As well,  Langara College at 49th and Cambie brings lots of traffic for those seeking a post-secondary education.
