Growth in Inventory, Stagnant Sales From December

With the turn of the new year, January continued with the post-holiday trend, seeing a slight decline in sales ratio at 30% down from 33% in December. Although the market welcomed a 14% increase in inventory, this turned over into a trifling 2.5% increase in sales compared to December’s numbers.

West End Is Down, Yaletown is Up, From December Sales in Downtown Vancouver

The West End saw a heavy 30% drop in sales from December while its inventory grew nearly 40% in new offerings. Check out listings for sale in Vancouver’s West End ordered by low to high listing prices right now. Yaletown garnered the largest growth in sales ratio of the four neighbourhoods from December to January with an  increase from 26% to 39% respectively. Throughout Downtown Vancouver, listings sitting in the +$3M range accounted for 21% of total inventory in January, but had very low sales activity to only represent 1.6% of total sales for the month. Varied Rates of New Inventory Across Different parts of Downtown Vancouver

As the new year begins, and the prospect of the end of this cold winter begins to approach, the Downtown Vancouver condo & townhome market begins to prepare with a consistent increase in inventory across all neighbourhoods.

  1. Downtown and West End had a 26% increase in inventory compared to December 
  2. Coal Harbour and Yaletown remained static with a 1% change in inventory.
